Join the 2025 PLANT-A-THON with Tree San Diego as we kick off our 11th Anniversary with a powerful planting season full of community action!

Over the course of 10 weeks, Tree San Diego will plant and distribute 1,000 climate-resilient trees across communities in need, starting with an epic kickoff in National City where 100 trees will be planted in partnership with the City on October 10. Together with volunteers, local leaders, and environmental champions like you, we will transform streets, schools, and parks—building shade equity and a healthier environment for generations to come.

The PLANT-A-THON is our largest fall planting campaign yet! We are starting in National City, one of our region’s most heat-vulnerable and underserved communities in need of expanded tree canopy and natural solutions that combat rising temperatures. See event details below.

PLANT-A-THON KICK-OFF EVENT:

WHEN: October 10, 2025, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM PST​​

WHERE: National City, CA (Location TBA in August)​

​

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• Help us plant 100 climate-resilient trees to increase shade and expand the urban canopy

• Connect with local leaders and community organizations at tabling booths

• Visit interactive booths hosted by environmental groups and community partners

• Get your hands dirty for a good cause - and go home knowing you made a difference!​

WHAT TO BRING:

• Closed-toe shoes

• Comfortable clothing you don’t mind getting dirty

• Reusable water bottle (we’ll have refill stations!)

• Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, etc.)​​​
