Project: Branch Out San Diego
Project Summary
The Branch Out San Diego project serves underserved communities through a private residential land planting project consisting of 1,575 trees, paired with an educational tree care program. The trees will be selected by residents at Tree San Diego events in neighborhoods throughout the county and on Indian reservations. Branch Out San Diego aims to:

Provide state-of-the-art aerial imaging data through photogrammetry for cities to use in urban forestry plans with on-the-ground mapping software to run tree planting reports

Increase residential energy savings, reduce GHG emissions, and provide GHG reductions to cities

Foster community engagement and environmental awareness by engaging stakeholders

Provide hands-on forestry training to community groups and local residents

Increase tree canopy and urban forests, and reduce heat island effect

Strengthening collaboration and integration between partners

Providing inclusive tree planting and education workshops

Improve the quality of life and build community

Expanding job creation of part-time positions
