Tree San Diego recently partnered with Ross Elementary for a joyful planting day filled with community spirit, gratitude, and teamwork!
With the help of six dedicated volunteers from a local VFW post, students, teachers, and Tree San Diego staff came together to plant five beautiful trees — including three Gold Medallion trees, one Red Push Pistache, and one Pink Trumpet tree.
The event was a wonderful example of community collaboration. Teachers and students showed heartfelt appreciation for Tree San Diego’s work — even surprising the team with delicious Filipino food as a token of thanks. Meanwhile, the students went above and beyond, writing 19 handwritten letters of appreciation to express their excitement and gratitude for helping make their campus greener and cooler.
The Ross Elementary planting served as a reminder of how tree planting not only strengthens our urban canopy but also nurtures connection, education, and gratitude within our community.
