Tree San Diego is celebrating an exciting milestone: welcoming our 25th full-time California Climate Action Corps (CCAC) Fellow!

The California Climate Action Corps is a statewide initiative that connects Californians with hands-on service opportunities to advance climate resilience and environmental sustainability. Through these fellowships, participants gain professional experience while making a tangible difference in their communities.

As a CCAC host partner, Tree San Diego has benefited from the energy, creativity, and dedication of emerging climate leaders who help advance our mission of building a healthier, more equitable urban forest across San Diego County.

Our fellows have helped make an impact through:

  • Tree planting: Supporting planting events, volunteer coordination, and community outreach.

  • Program development: Strengthening initiatives, developing resources, and expanding our capacity to serve communities.

  • Environmental education: Delivering educational activities and outreach about trees, urban heat, and climate resilience.

  • Community engagement: Connecting residents with opportunities to grow and care for our urban forest.

Beyond these contributions, fellows gain valuable workforce experience and develop skills that prepare them for careers in environmental sustainability and climate action.

We’re grateful to the California Climate Action Corps and all 25 fellows who have contributed to our work. Together, we’re growing more than trees — we’re cultivating the next generation of climate leaders!
