Tree San Diego is excited to welcome our largest Treejectory Workforce Development cohort yet, with more than 70 participants this fall!

This growing program prepares participants for careers in urban forestry, environmental sustainability, and climate resilience through hands-on learning and professional development.

The updated Treejectory curriculum introduces participants to a wide range of skills, including tree planting, drone technology, GIS mapping, career exploration, and workplace safety training. By combining technical instruction with real-world experiences, Treejectory helps prepare the next generation of environmental professionals.

Introducing Surf & Turf: Connecting Land and Sea

This fall, Treejectory launched a special pilot module, Surf & Turf, in partnership with O’side Whales and Ocean Connectors. This unique experience takes participants to the coastline to explore the connection between our urban forests, watersheds, and ocean ecosystems.

Candidates discover how trees help protect water quality, reduce runoff, and support healthier watersheds — ultimately benefiting coastal habitats and ocean wildlife. By connecting land-based conservation with marine education, Surf & Turf demonstrates how environmental systems work together.

With more than 70 participants exploring new skills and career pathways, Treejectory continues to grow its impact across the region.

At Tree San Diego, we’re cultivating more than trees — we’re growing the skills, knowledge, and connections that will shape the future of environmental stewardship in San Diego County.
